SpeakEasy Voice Recorder App Reviews

i bought this app about a year ago. I purchased it because it could synchronize my notes with i-tunes and record it to a disk. I had to clean my hard drive. Now i could not download the synchronizer from their website because it does not exist anymore.

When I first got this app over a year and a half ago, it worked fine. Now it no longer will transfer recordings from my iPhone to my computer. It keeps claiming that it cant find the iPhone backup, and the check mark in the checkbox for the SpeakEasy Recordings playlist in iTunes wont stay checked during the iPhone sync. Worthless.

this application has many limitations: cannot record phone calls, cannot record on backround, file dates are not kept on the importing to itunes messing up the dates Update: APPLE why you dont remove people not longer existing??

Despite a lot of negative reviews, I added this version to my iPhone thinking I could export the recordings I made with the free version. That did not work. This version has a separate recording database.

When I add my own section I try to delete it cuts off. Plus need to be able to record phone calls

There is no way to send the voice notes to anyone or share the voice note. There is no social integration or even the simplest options other than to save it. I cant even find the files when I use an iphone file manager. The interface is ok but could be better. The buttons are too small. Theres too many apps that do the same thing to chose from...should have picked another one.

This company no longer exists. Apple, please remove these apps from the store!

I have wasted over four hours of my life today trying to retrieve interviews I recently conducted using this app. Due to lack of hard drive space, I put one on my new iphone 4, and I put the other on my old iphone 3G, which I have basically turned into an ipod touch. Two years ago when I started using this app it was easy and effortless. I hadnt used it in awhile but since I had downloaded all available app updates I assumed it was going to be fine. I did not get any notification saying this version was no longer supported and that I needed to download the new pay version. However, one of the solutions I attempted for retrieving my interviews was to download the new version. It behaves like a totally separate app and does not see the file I recorded with version 1.3.0. Very annoying. I also tried downloading an app that will allow me to view the phone as an external hard drive and retrieve files. I had done enough googling to know the files might be in *.caf format (whatever that is) but I could not find my recordings using this method. After this I went to my university tech support office and they could not help me. I tried the wifi transfer multiple times, including at the tech support office, and it did not work. FINALLY I found something online saying in order for the wifi transfer to work, you have to actually be listening to the interview when you click the wifi button. That worked for my iphone 4. It downloaded as an .m4a file, which I loaded into itunes and then in order to convert it to .mp3 I clicked in itunes on the "advanced" menu and then chose "create mp3 version". However, even with the interview playing, the wifi transfer is not working on my iphone 3G. So Im still wasting time trying to retrieve this file. I may have to resort to rerecording it in real time by playing it one one device while recording it to another device--however, I will NOT be using speakeasy to record that or anything else ever again. Im completely frustrated. There are many other options out there and Im going to choose one of them.

This app would be amazing if it worked like it should. It is really unstable, and hard to export from. My biggest complaint is that if you get a call or a text then it will crash the recorder and you will lose everything. Dont buy this!

There is no way to get your recordings from your iPhone to any other device. Many of the features simply do not work. There is zero support. If you are looking for an app to use as a voice recorder to then send those recordings to another device, find a different app. Otherwise, consider throwing your two dollars in the toilet and flushing it.

Only way to output is a convoluted browser method. Company website is defunct.

Used to be my favorite voice recorder app. No longer lets you go back and hear recordings.
